Don't stop at dusting your mantelpieces and shelves - keeping your light bulbs dust free could help save enrgy as it will increase output and so make them more efficient.

I had to stop and think for a while on how this can help lessen energy use. I mean, you'll still consume the same amount of energy whether the bulbs are dust free or not, right? But I think it's more applicable to rooms that have more than one (1) light bulb or fluorascent light. Like in our case, we have a floor lamp in our room and it's not super bright to serve as the main light, but it's enough for reading when you're near it. Keeping its bulb clean makes its output bright enough that we don't need to turn on the main light anymore. Makes sense.
