I will be spending my long weekend finishing a very recent bulk order and making more handmade soaps. Aside from the new Shampoo & Body Bars I just made and posted about, I had to continue making 16 more batches (10 batches yesterday and 6 batches today). But I'll be writing about this particular variant that gets me high every time I make it. Choco Latte! Every time I make Choco Latte, the bursting aroma of the ground barako beans is so strong that the entire working room instantly smells like a coffee shop, and I just keep sniffing away. It also makes me nostalgic with my coffee sessions with B. When I stopped breastfeeding DL1 and before I got pregnant with DL2, we would have our coffee session every other night and we fondly called it "C.O.S.". "C.O.S." (which I made up) stands for "Coffee Or Something". I happen to always call it when I invite my hubby for...yeah, coffee or something! ![]() Now, since I'm still breastfeeding DL2, I prefer not to consume any freshly brewed coffee because of the caffeine (but I eat chocolates, hehe!). Unfortunately, we don't have decaffeinated barako beans (is there such a thing?) so our current supply goes to my Choco Latte instead. For those who're loving the Choco Latte, don't worry because this variant is here to stay. I intend to breastfeed DL2 for more than a year (I hope my milk supply lasts me that long). But even if I start drinking brewed coffee again, I'll be putting aside enough ground coffee to supply my happy customer.
Here's when I added the ground coffee and the chocolatey fragrance oil in. ![]() Here's when I was just playing around with the mixture to get a great, yummy shot for this post. Doesn't it look good enough to eat?
Hmm...I think I took too much pictures of the ground barako beans. Hence, the title of this post. |
